NYC Car Service Guides

Home Guides

Practical guides to booking and pricing car service in New York City — what a chauffeur actually costs, how the three airports compare, when a black car beats a rideshare, and how far ahead to leave for a flight. Written from how we actually dispatch, not from a keyword list.

Most writing about car service in New York is a booking form with paragraphs around it. These are not that. Each one answers a question people actually ask us, with the real numbers attached and the cases where booking a car is the wrong call left in.

Start here

If you are pricing a booking for the first time, read the cost guide. It sets out what an hour of chauffeur time costs across the New York market in 2026, what a published rate card tells you about an operator, and the five questions that change a quote more than the headline rate does.

If you are deciding between a booked car and an app, the black car versus Uber comparison is the honest version — including the trips where we would tell you to open the app instead.

If you have a flight to catch, the JFK departure timing guide and the airport comparison are the two that prevent actual problems.

How these are written

Every figure quoted for our own service comes from the same rate file that generates the tables on the booking pages, so a guide cannot drift out of step with what we actually charge. Market ranges are checked against what other licensed New York operators publish, and dated so you can see how current they are.

Where we have a commercial interest in the answer — and on most of these we do — the guide says so and gives you the counter-case anyway. A comparison that never concludes against us would not be worth reading, and would not be trusted by anybody who has priced this before.

Journey times, traffic windows and route notes come from dispatching these runs rather than from a mapping tool. They describe what we plan against, including the bad cases.
