A Queens to JFK transfer is $115 in a Business Sedan, $150 in a Luxury SUV and $235 in a Sprinter Van — the lowest published airport rates we run, because JFK sits inside the borough. Most Queens pickups reach the terminal in under thirty-five minutes.
Published rates for this route

The route, the roads and the tolls
| Distance | Typical journey time | Roads used | Tolls |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 miles | 20 – 35 minutes | The Van Wyck Expressway, Grand Central Parkway or Belt Parkway depending on neighbourhood. Southern Queens is often a surface-street run. | None on most Queens to JFK routings. |
What to know about this run
Queens is the shortest airport run we publish, and it is also the one most often underserved — rideshare drivers deadhead toward Manhattan rather than sit in Forest Hills at 5am.
Long Island City and Astoria are technically closer to LaGuardia than JFK. If your itinerary is flexible, the LGA rate from Queens is lower still.
The Van Wyck is the one road to watch. It backs up from mid-afternoon and there is no clean parallel route.
The shortest run we publish
Ten miles from most of the borough and considerably less from southern Queens. Howard Beach and Jamaica are close enough that the drive is under fifteen minutes.
That makes this the cheapest airport rate on our list and, counter-intuitively, one of the harder trips to get through a rideshare app at five in the morning. Short airport runs are unattractive work and cancellations are common.
A booking is a booking regardless of length. The car turns up for a twelve-minute run the same way it turns up for a four-hour one.
Consider LaGuardia instead if you can
From Long Island City, Astoria, Sunnyside and Woodside, LaGuardia is closer than JFK and the published rate is lower again.
If your itinerary offers a choice of airport, it is worth comparing both the airfare and the ground leg from your specific neighbourhood — from northern Queens the ground difference is real.
From Jamaica, Howard Beach and the southern neighbourhoods, JFK is clearly the right answer and LaGuardia is a longer trip.

All of them. Long Island City, Astoria, Sunnyside, Woodside, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Flushing, Bayside, Jamaica, Howard Beach and the Rockaways.
Twenty to thirty-five minutes from most of the borough. Southern Queens neighbourhoods like Howard Beach and Jamaica are closer to fifteen.
For a 5am departure with luggage, yes — the value is a car that is definitely there, not the distance covered. Queens is where rideshare supply fails most reliably at that hour.
